Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport. There, issue your visa (50 US per person – if US national – then 100 US per person) – get your luggage and go through customs. Meet and greet with the driver and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Spend an interesting day in the authentic Maasai Lodge and get to know the culture of the Maasai people, take bush walks, relax by the pool or hear the stories of the Maasai at the evening campfire.
Day 3: In the morning you will be picked up from the accommodation and drive to the Arusha National Park. Once there, you go for a walking tour with an armed ranger through the park. After the return get into the safari car and go for picnic lunch. After relaxing a bit proceed with the game drives around the Momella Lakes and through the park. Proceed to the accommodation in the evening.
Day 4: After breakfast leave your accommodation and proceed to Tarangire National Park which is about 2-3 hours away from Arusha. Go for first game drives in the morning searching for herds of elephants and enjoying the beautiful landscape with the Baobab trees. For lunch we invite you to Tarangire Safari Lodge with a beautiful view over the Tarangire River. After lunch proceed with your game drives until late afternoon, when you proceed to your accommodation.
Day 5: In the morning we have planned a hike with a ranger in the Tarangire National Park. The tour starts at the main gate and leads you into the wilderness of the Tarangire. Follow the animal tracks and listen to the explanations of the ranger, who will guide you safely through the bush. On this tour, you can discover even the smallest traces and legacies of the wildlife, before you proceed with the safari car through the park for the rest of the day. At lunchtime, take a break at one of the rest areas in the park and let the surroundings sink into your mind. The afternoon is filled again with animal observations before returning to the accommodation.
Day 6: Today, visit Lake Manyara National Park. This park impresses with its interaction between lake and forest. Giraffes, buffalos, dik diks and impalas will cross your path. In the afternoon we go for a walk in the lofty heights – the only treetop path in Tanzania – the Treetop Walkway. A great view! After you have moved a little bit out of the car, you continue up to the escarpment to the next accommodation. The journey takes about 30 – 45 minutes. Pack a sweater – especially at night it can get a bit chilly.
Day 7: Today you will make an unforgettable Ngorongoro crater tour. At the beginning, drive 600 m into the crater. Arrived at the crater floor, the game drives begin. Be impressed by the wildebeests, zebras and elephants. At the end of the rides you will climb the steep crater wall with the safari car and proceed to your next accommodation.
Day 8: Today your journey comes to an end. You will be picked from the hotel and transferred to the airport. We hope you have packed a bag full of memories. We are waving good bye and wishing you a safe flight back home!
