DAY 1: ARRIVAL & WELCOME : You will be met upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by an Acacia Holidays representative who will transfer you and your luggage to Nairobi Safari Club. Our representative will assist you with check-in formalities so you can relax and recharge after your journey. OVERNIGHT – NAIROBI SAFARI CLUB

DAY 2: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK: Early in the morning, you will have breakfast at the hotel and thereafter commence our drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park, returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Among its wide variety of wildlife, Lake Nakuru is especially famous for its vast flocks of flamingoes. In some months, these birds are so abundant that they seem to form a pink band along the lakeshore. Other notable inhabitants of the park include giraffe, buffalo, waterbuck, lion, and rhinoceros. DAY 3: MAASAI MARA: Setting out again after breakfast, we drive across the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is widely considered to be one of Africa’s greatest reserves, where the Maasai community co-exists in harmony with the local fauna. The co-existence of man and wildlife makes this one of the world’s most unique wilderness regions. The Mara is home to a breathtaking array of life. The vast grasslands are teeming with herds of zebra, giraffe, gazelle, and topi. The acacia forests abound with monkeys and bird life. Elephants and buffalo wallow in the wide Musiara Swamp while the Mara and Talek rivers brim with hippos and crocodiles. From July through October, the Mara plays host to one of the greatest spectacles on the planet as millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and topi head north from Tanzania into Kenya. Those fortunate enough to witness The Great Migration are treated to spectacular viewing and photographic opportunities. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in this natural paradise, returning to the lodge for dinner, relaxation around the fire pit, and overnight. OVERNIGHT – MARA SOPA LODGE MEALS: B/L/D

DAY 4 & 5: MAASAI MARA: Enjoy the entire days exploring the splendors of the Mara with morning and afternoon game-viewing drives, returning to the lodge for lunch and dinner. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge for both nights as well. OVERNIGHT – MARA SOPA LODGE

BALLOON SAFARI ADD-ON: Optional but highly recommended, the Balloon Safari is a very popular excursion among visitors and can be added to a safari that includes a night at any of the camps/lodges in the Mara. Meeting your pilot early this morning, you will receive a briefing and watch as the balloon is inflated. You lift-off at dawn, rising with the sun and gently float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. Below are the majestic plains of the African savannah, teeming with life. At times, your balloon will be piloted at treetop Level, offering unique perspectives of the wildlife and many great photo opportunities. Other times, the pilot will ascend to nearly 1,000 feet, offering a breathtaking perspective of the Mara, allowing you to appreciate its profound size. On landing, enjoy a delicious champagne breakfast served in the bush under an acacia tree. Total flight time from lift-off until touch-down is approximately one to two hours.

DAY 6: DIANI BEACH: Optional after breakfast is a morning game viewing drive returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to the airstrip for our afternoon scheduled flight to Diani. Depart from the Mara airstrip. On arrival at Diani you will be met by a representative of Acacia Holidays at the airport and transferred to Baobab Beach Resort & Spa. DAY 7: DIANI BEACH: After breakfast enjoy full day at leisure. Optional service as listed below Mombasa City Tour. On the tour, you will visit the following historical and cultural places: the Fort Jesus, the Mwembe Tayari open-air market, the local bazaars, handicraft carvers, walk through the famous curvy alley-roads, the business district, Haller Park and lunch at Tamarind Restaurant. The Fort Jesus Built by the Portuguese at the end of the 16th century at the southern edge of the town of Mombasa, over a spur of coral rock, and kept under their control for one century, Fort Jesus, Mombasa, bears testimony to the first successful attempt by Western civilization to rule the Indian ocean trade routes, which, until then had remained under Eastern influence. The design of the fort, with its proportions, its imposing walls and five bastions, reflects the military architectural theory of the Renaissance. Fort Jesus, Mombasa, bears physical witness, in its structures and subsequent transformations, also to the interchange of cultural values and influences between and among peoples of African, Arab, Turkish, Persian and European origin that fought to gain and maintain their control over this strategic port. Nature Trail Park (Haller park) Haller Park nature Trail started as a cement factory in 1954. The factory obtained its raw materials from the quarry, a fossil coral limestone reef that lived 125,000 to 250,000 years ago. A variety of game animals and birds, which are not so easy to see, inhabit the fenced area. Each has a function in Nature Trail’s ecosystem, and almost all of them utilize a different feeding niche. DAY 8 & 9: DIANI BEACH: Enjoy the entire two days at leisure in South Coast on Half Board Basis. Optional tours include; Tamarind evening dhow, Visit to Mamba Village, Ngomongo Village Cultural Tour. Dinner and overnight at Baobab Beach Resort & Spa. Tour descriptions. Mamba Village Visit (Crocodile Farm Tour) Situated in Nyali, is East Africa’s largest crocodile farm. The Crocodile Farm Displays the age, weight and length of crocodiles. You will also see hatchlings to 5 meter long “big daddy” – the man eating monster, sun basking along the tropical garden trail. At five pm. daily, the crocodiles are fed and you can see them jump high in the air to snap the meat. Camel Riding, Horse Riding & Mamba Restaurant overlooking the crocodile pond, a unique “a la carte” restaurant serves game meat like crocodile and ostrich. They also have Beautiful collection of plants and flowers specializing in orchids and aquatic flora. On display are carnivorous species, marine aquarium and snakes . Tamarind Dhow Dinner & Dance Cruise This evening cruise is the most renown of all the coastal trips. An enchanting evening of exotic seafood blended with a romantic cruise aboard an authentic Arab Dhow around the old port of Mombasa Town. The dhow, Nawalilkher, was built in 1977 for trading. At 23 meters, she is the largest dhow on the coast. Purchased in 1986, she was converted for restaurant use by her original builder Fundi Bini on Lamu Island, under the watchful eye of Mohammed Shalle, who is still her captain today. An enchanting evening of exotic sea food blended with a romantic cruise aboard an authentic Arab Dhow. For centuries there existed a thriving culture and society in East Africa mix of Arab and native peoples. Ngomongo Cultural Center is a look back in time in miniature of tribal life and community groundings. Here you are able to get a glimpse of the lifestyle and cultures that existed for centuries before “civilization” came to Africa. Different traditional tribal huts are set up in this themed village, with peoples from the different tribes portraying their ancestors. DAY 10: DEPARTURE: You will be transferred to Mombasa International Airport for your scheduled flight back home. Sadly, the adventure comes to an end, but the memories are forever.
